Taking a hands-on approach and making use of common business decision-making scenarios, participants will learn how to apply useful Excel functions and worksheet formulas to the process of data management (business intelligence), from data manipulation to data reporting / analysis.

Course Outline |
|
The course is divided into 2 parts.
In the first part of the course, we will make use of 6 case scenarios, to share with you our knowledge and experience in business intelligence, from turning raw data into useful business information to analyzing the business data for reporting and decision making. We will also share with you how to create macro when you have ZERO knowledge about programming.

Case 3 - Building Formulas
Case 4 - Analyzing Data
Case 5 - Retrieving Databases
Case 6 - Automating Processes
The second part of the course is customized based on the profile (skill level, experience, etc) and the expectation of the participants. Some of the topics we have covered in our previous courses include:
• Highlight cells based on certain criteria / conditions
• Restrict user inputs into the cells
• Dynamic ranges that resizes or moves based on certain conditions
• Forms that reduce data collection time, etc.

4. Using Auto filters
5. Using Goto function
6. Counting records based on criteria
7. Getting relevant data from a cell
8. Merging data from two list of records

Mr Khoo, Jason |
Jason Khoo is the author of “Excel Secrets for Highly Effective Marketers” and founder and chief trainer of a self-established company which has successfully differentiated itself by offering Microsoft® Excel Courses that empower participants with knowledge of applying the different functions and formulas in Excel to real business needs and scenarios.
An expert in spreadsheets and databases, Jason also founded a consultancy firm which has helped many companies extract valuable information from databases using Microsoft® Excel and save significant amount of money by providing solutions using just existing PC applications such as MS Excel.
Spanning the gamut of large, medium and small companies in a myriad of different industries, his clients include multi-nationals corporations such as Discovery Asia, 3M, NCS, Cold Storage, Timberland, etc.
Prior to setting up his businesses, Jason has worked in local listed companies and foreign MNCs supporting the marketers in their analysis of marketing plans and providing quality information for business strategic planning and decision-making. He was also a financial counsel for a business unit in a Fortune 500 company which generated a total revenue of more than S$100 million per annum. |
